The Juncus plant thrives in the humid regions of the Portuguese Lezírias, providing a natural material for traditional weaving. Traditionally used to create colorful baskets and chair seats, this resource has sustained families for over 150 years. However, this craft is at risk of disappearing, as fewer artisans are willing to learn and uphold its traditions. By curating timeless pieces that celebrate and preserve this exquisite art form, we aim to ensure the rich heritage of JUNCO weaving continues to flourish for generations to come.
